I feel so blessed to have had Steve as a cousin. What a life force of creativity and love of family. Never a dull moment when Steve was around! He has been the glue for us Beal cousins, especially after our parents all passed away. I am in awe of his resume. I cherish and will miss your presence Steve. Your cousin, Linda
Sending my deepest condolences to the Bingham family. Dr. Bingham was a huge impact in my life while he was at Newberry High School. His passion for music was untouched and I learned so much from him. I will never forget the time and dedication he put in to the music program and the instruction I received as a student and drum major.

Steve and I were litter-mates on the faculty of the Fine Arts department @ C.H.H.S. in Chapel Hill, N.C. back in the early 1990"s. Chapel Hill High School was ranked as one of the top 10 High Schools in the nation back then. There had been no marching band at the school in some years, and the new Principal was determined that that would change under his administration. Change it did when Steve Bingham was hired. I was the new Director of Theatre Arts, and we immediately bonded as I had played 1st Trombone in my high school marching band for many years, and we shared a passion for music. Steve organized, created, auditioned, rehearsed, drilled, and transformed the marching band of the instrumantal music program into an award winning ensemble. Of course, Trudy was right by his side, as always!! His work with the Jazz band, and other instrumental groups were truly impressive. He joined the faculty when the orchestra program was the premiere program, but soon 'evened the playing field'.
I was lucky enough to live at the Bingham's house for a time during our work at Chapel Hill High. Steve and Trudy exemplify the model of hospitable Christian souls. Not only did they take me into their home, but we shared many joys, and sorrows including the passing of my sister when she was only 46 years old while I stayed there. I don't think I would have survived that time in my life without Steve and Trudy!!! I'll be there in spirit.
I love you Stevie (BINGO), and Trudles,
David Jefferson Sorrells
Steve loved to jam with me, starting in 1980 and most recently, mid-September.
Bing a few decades back....holding fast to all the great moments...
