Dr. Kenneth I. Berns, 85, died Friday, January 26, 2024, in Gainesville, Florida. He was buried at Prairie Creek in a simple green service. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 8, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Oak Hammock. Afte Read Obituary

Dr. Berns was in several classes I took at Oak Hammock. Since he was a physician, it was not surprising that he was extremely knowledgeable about medical issues. However, Dr. Berns also had vast knowledge about a huge variety of other subjects, and I was always impressed with how generous and how patient he was in helping me and others comprehend and to learn more about the topic being discussed. Therefore, Dr. Berns was not only a phenomenal physician, but he was also an exceptional teacher! This world was a much better place for having had him in it! Dr. Ken Berns was a great man who will be terribly missed by all who knew him! My thoughts go to his lovely wife, Laura, and to his family members; I wish them all much comfort and peace at this time and afterwards!
