Douglas Raymond Foster's Obituary
Douglas Raymond Foster, 56, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, March 21, 2015. He was born in New Rochelle, NY on September 18, 1958, and was a resident of Micanopy most of his adult life. Doug was a dedicated father, son, and brother. He is survived by daughters Annalee Katherine Foster, 14, Luna Lee Foster, 2, and Phoenix Sophia Collins, 8, and his father and sister, Ron Foster and Pamela Foster Bauer, as well as Dean Bauer and nieces Lauren and Lindsey Bauer. He was predeceased by his mother, Carol Foster.
Doug Foster was a great and trusted friend to so many people, especially in the world of reptiles where he was a knowledgeable mentor to countless enthusiasts. He was truly larger than life, his smile contagious, his laugh infectious, his wit quick. To hear him tell a tale was inspiring, such that his stories have become legendary. He was a fiercely devoted father who lit up when surrounded by his daughters. His life was always an adventure. He loved exotic animals, backpacking, riding his Harley, and spending time with friends and loved ones. He possessed a keen intelligence and business savvy. He will be missed incredibly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Doug Foster was and will always be, in a word, unforgettable.
