Dorothy Dick Woodward's Obituary
Dorothy Dick Woodward, age 95 of Gainesville, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 in North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was born September 22, 1919 in Bloomington, Illinois to Harry Kimball and Pauline Whitmer Dick. Dorothy spent 20 years volunteering at North Florida Regional Medical Center and Haven Hospice. She was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Denton B. Woodward in 1991. She is survived by her children, Denton D. Woodward (Elsie), Paul K. Woodward, Joanne W. Breen (Norman) and Janet W. Elliott (Emmet); seven grandchildren, Donna, Denton Jr., Tim, Christine, Woody, Denton and Emily and twelve great grandchildren. Her dogs, referred as “her babies”, Muffie, Rex, Gator and Penny also survive her.
Dorothy was a very giving person and will be greatly missed, especially by her family. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at Holy Faith Catholic Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Alachua County Humane Society, 4205 NW 6th Street, Gainesville, Fl 32609.
