Dorothy M. Gross' Obituary
Dorothy M. Gross died on January 22, 2018. She was 91 years old. She was born in Jeannette, Pa. and grew up in Akron Ohio. She graduated from Akron City Hospital in 1947 and received a BSN from Case Western Reserve University’s Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing.
In 1968 Miss Gross was appointed the Assistant Chief Nurse at the Malcome Randal VA Hospital, and was an active participant in the opening of the hospital, including the staffing of a competent nursing staff.
In her younger years, Miss Gross was a competitive swimmer in her teens, and a bowler and golfer after retiring. But the greatest pleasure was fresh and salt water fishing. She also enjoyed interacting with people in all walks of life, which she did in her daily activities.
Surviving her is Buttons, her dog, and many special friends from east to west, north to south, including Canada.
A Celebration of Life reception will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Turkey Creek Clubhouse, 11400 Turkey Creek Blvd., Alachua, FL.
