Donna Lee Williamson McKinney's Obituary
Donna Lee Williamson McKinney “Nanny” passed away peacefully in her home on January 12, 2025, in Alachua, Florida surrounded by her family. She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on April 6, 1939, to Merle E. Higgenbotham Williamson Hunter & Curtis E. Williamson. She graduated from Paxon High School in 1957. Donna worked for 25+ years for Williams & Crews Medical Billing.
Donna was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church in Gainesville FL. She was a member of the Gainesville Chapter 41 Order of the Eastern Star, and Worthy Matron in 1987 & 1988. She also enjoyed being a Red Hatter for many years.
Donna is mostly known for being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved any activity involving her family, especially with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Donna is survived by her three children - Donna Kay Gocek (Don), Mark McKinney (Neila), Laurie Ann Wright (Bobby), eight grandchildren – Stephanie Hope, Lisa Philman (Mitchell), Ashley Grant (Daniel), Bobby Wright III (Tiffany), Shelby McKinney, Andrew Gocek (Kimmy), Garrett McKinney (Brandee),and Jarrett Wright, eight
great grandchildren and her faithful companion, Penny, her dog.
Donna is preceded in death by both her parents, her brother C. Wayne Williamson, the father of her children G. Wilson McKinney, and four great grandbabies.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Williams Thomas Funeral Home Jonesville from 5:00-7:00 pm, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, FL.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Forest Meadows Central, 4100 NW 39th Ave, Gainesville, FL at 1:00 pm
