Donald "Donnie" Brown's Obituary
Donnie Brown of Gainesville passed away Friday, November 11, 2016. He was 65.
Born in Gainesville, FL on June 14, 1951, Donnie lived in Hawthorne, FL until the age of 7. At that time Donnie moved to Gainesville.
Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Brown; mother, Claudia Brown; brother, Warren Brown, and sister, Betty Seaward. Donnie is survived by his brothers, Jimmie Brown (Cassie) of Hawthorne, FL; Ernest Brown (Nancy) of Ocala, FL, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Donnie loved his family very much. He liked to go out to eat, family reunions, and his home visits.
Donnie was a long-time resident of Tacachale. We were blessed to have Donnie all these years. Donnie was born with Down Syndrome. His parents were told he would not live past his 20th birthday. Donnie went to live at Tacachale when he was 7 years old. That was a heartbreaking decision for his parents, but his father was ill.
Donnie’s brother Jimmie spent the rest of Donnie’s life as his guardian. Jimmie made sure Donnie came home for all special holidays. His passing will leave a large void in many lives.
Donnie worked at Star-Lite IND. on the grounds of Tacachale. He loved his job.
Everyone that knew him loved him. He had a great sense of humor. He leaves behind great memories and he will be missed by many people.
Thank God for the love and care he received from his Tacachale family.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 10:00 A. M., in the Chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 N Main Street. Interment will follow in Hawthorne Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
