Dolores Siegel's Obituary
Dolores Siegel passed peacefully on October 18, 2017 at Haven Hospice in Gainesville, Florida, at the age of 93.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, Jodi Siegel (Robert Robins), of Gainesville; grandchildren Jennifer (Jeremy) Hyman of Tampa, Kayla robins of Atlanta, Bridget (Kadah) Fultz-Siegel and Evan Robins of Gainesville; great-grandchildren, Brock and Kyler Hyman of Tampa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry and sons Henry and Andrew Siegel.
Dolores was born on January 25, 1924 in New York City. She was married to jerry for 67 years. They loved each very much and held hands until the last day of his life. They lived in South Florida for 50 years before moving to Gainesville in 2014. As a young woman in NYC, she worked at 20th Century Fox where she briefly dated Tony Curtis, then called Bernie Schwartz. She loved being surrounded by family, playing mah jongg, enjoying Italian food; watching the Miami Heat, and talking about New York.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2017, at 1:00 P. M., in the B’nai Israel Cemetery, at the corner of Waldo road and University Avenue, Gainesville, with Rabbi David Kaiman of Congregation B’nai Israel officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dolores’ long and loving life.
