Dianna Victoria Thomas Vaughn's Obituary
Dianna Victoria Thomas Vaughn, 66, peacefully transitioned on November 22, 2025, surrounded by family and love.
She was born on June 4, 1959, in Gainesville, Florida, to R.G. Thomas and Sally Thomas, and grew up in LaCrosse, Florida, alongside her siblings, Jeff Thomas and Gigi Howard. Dianna graduated from Rolling Green Academy in 1977. She later pursued a career in nursing, becoming a registered nurse, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Dianna was married for 44 years to Stephen Vaughn and was the loving mother of Autumn Beth Vaughn and Stephen Kyle Vaughn, and forever held in her heart her beloved daughter, the late Christy Sarah Vaughn.
Dianna had a big heart and a gentle, thoughtful, and loving spirit. She cherished every person she met, and her compassion extended naturally to animals, especially dogs and cats. She found joy in collecting meaningful treasures, including angels, butterflies, rocks, coins, and photographs. A lifelong learner, she had a passion for genealogy and created a Facebook group, “Our North Central Florida Pioneers,” to share her research. She also loved to write and send letters, finding connection through thoughtful words. Above all, she loved her children deeply, and her grandson, Noah, brightened every day of her life.
Dianna lives on in our hearts and memories as a constant source of love, inspiration, and warmth. May she rest in peace.
In honoring Dianna’s wishes, no formal services will be held. She is remembered with simplicity, peace, and love, and through quiet acts of reflection, kindness, and remembrance.
For those who wish, flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/. or Shriners Children’s Hospital https://donate.shrinerschildrens.org/. in her honor.
