Diane Evelyn Pedersen's Obituary
Diane Evelyn Pedersen, 82, resident of Newberry, Florida died Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at her home, following a long illness.
Ms. Pedersen was a native of Alameda, California, born on August 9, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Elliot Christian and Dorothy I. Pedersen. After leaving northern California, Diane lived for many years in Cleveland, Georgia and then in Miami, Florida before moving to Gainesville in 1982, where she had a long career as an accountant for the United States Department of Agriculture, until her retirement in 2006. Following her career with the USDA, she was a member of the NARFE, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, where she used her skill with numbers to serve as the Treasurer for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed researching genealogy, and most importantly loved spending time with her daughter and granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jeff Wilkinson, of Newberry; one granddaughter, Lauren Danielle Wilkinson, of Gainesville; a sister and her husband, Janet and Terry Williams, of Texas; nephew, Noel Blakely Holcomb and a niece, Lori Shannon Williams, and her two daughters.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 A. M. at Forest Meadows Memorial Park West.
