Dewey Lamar Lee's Obituary
Mr. Dewey Lamar Lee, loving father, died on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the E.T. York Haven Hospice facility in Gainesville, FL following an extended illness.
Mr. Lee was born in Miami, FL on September 2, 1935 to Oscar and Josephine Lee and was one of eight children (Wally, Jimmy, Gene, Arthur, Connie, Kay, and Ronnie).
Mr. Lee met Ora Pauline Barger in Miami who became his wife for 52 years before preceding him in death in 2010. Dewey worked for the Miami Elevator Company for 34 years. The company moved him to the Gainesville area in the early 1960s and he spent the majority of his life in Newberry, FL.
Mr. Lee is survived by his three children Dennis (Debbie-wife), Donna Graden (Greg-husband), and Chris as well as numerous loving and caring family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Newberry United Methodist Church, 24845 W Newberry Road, with Rev. Karen Burris officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to the charity of your choice.
