Dennis M. Mattox's Obituary
Dennis M. Mattox, 68, of Hawthorne passed away December 12, 2015. He was born July 17, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Dread M. and Rachel I. Lafferty Mattox. Dennis loved air boating and traveling in his beloved Harley and Corvette. He also loved to sing, especially karaoke. Overall, Dennis truly enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dread M. Mattox. He is survived by his fiancée, Betty J. Thomas of Hawthorne; mother, Rachel I. Mattox of Monticello, Illinois; son, Todd M. Mattox of Mahomet, Illinois; daughters, Kendra Thomas and Brooke Mattox, both of Mahomet, Illinois; sister, Cynthia F. Huisinga of Monticello, Illinois; brother, Douglas S. Mattox of Mount Vernon, Indiana; seven grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Skeeter.
A Celebration of Dennis’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to The American Cancer Society, 2119 SW 16th St, Gainesville, FL 32608, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St, Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
