Dennis Harrison Lewis, Sr.,'s Obituary
Dennis Harrison Lewis, Sr., 80, of Hawthorne, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on April 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 6, 1945, in Renova, Pennsylvania, to the late Benjamin Harrison and Pauline Rooney Lewis.
Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Following his military service, he became a dedicated business owner, operating Rapid Service Center in Gainesville, Florida, for 50 years.
Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He found great joy in spending time with his family, bass fishing, and fishing tournaments. His love for animals was evident to all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce R. Lewis; sons, Dennis H. Lewis Jr. and Brian K. (Ginny) Lewis; grandchildren, Brittany (Logan) Mosher, Kristin Lewis, Jordan (Tyler) O’Quinn, Shelby Lewis, Daniel Lewis, and Anna Lewis; and fifteen great-grandchildren who brought him endless pride and happiness.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Dennis’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., located at 22205 SE 69th Ave. Hawthorne, FL 32640.
Dennis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
