Denise Anne Schaney Lowenstein's Obituary
Denise Anne Schaney Lowenstein, age 62 of Gainesville, FL passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Warren, Ohio on September 16, 1958 to Ross David and Gloria Joy Hitchcock Schaney and grew up in Coral Springs, FL.
She married Joseph in 1980 and they moved to Napa, CA. Denise and Joseph moved to Gainesville in 1986, she was a longtime member of Westside Baptist Church where she worked in Children’s ministry.
Denise loved the beach, especially St. Augustine, Sanibel and Maui. She loved going to Universal. She loved her children and family, most of all she adored her grandson.
She is survived by her husband Joseph “Joe” Lowenstein; children, Diana Lowenstein Gude (Joshua) and Damon Lowenstein; brothers, Phillip Schaney, Thomas Schaney; sister, Kay Starr Schaney, Sandy Metzger; one grandson, Collin Lowenstein and many nieces and nephews to “Aunt Niecy”.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ross and Joy Schaney.
The family will receive friends on Wed. October 21, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 N. Main Street, Gainesville. A celebration of Denise’s life will be held at Westside Baptist Church 10,000 W. Newberry Rd. Gainesville, FL on Thursday October 22, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Park officiating.
