Dear Ron, Marcus, and families,
I so enjoyed seeing David when he brought your Mother to St. Petersburg. We had many a laugh over food - always food - and shared memories of our childhood, of your grandparents, who were my Aunt and Uncle, and just caught up on our lives. David was a wonderful person, and I am so glad we got to have time together, especially with our Moms, who were such a hoot every time they saw each other.

I wish we had met, but I know you and David created a great life together. He was such a special individual. I know you miss him terribly.

I didn't get the chance to meet you but I do know that my wife Lashonda loves you dearly and speaks so highly of you and the type of man you were to her when she met you working at Sindy Lanier; especially all the laughs jokes and fun you guys had. The agape love you showed to those around you never judging anyone for the color of their skin, sexual orientation and more defines the true spiritual being God created you to be for so many broke and unbroken people. You will forever live on through memories of those you have empacted and I thank you for loving her past the moon until your final breath. May you continue to sleep in peace and fill heaven with the Agape love God blessed earth with.

I remember David from our LPN program WAY back! He was funny and kind. I am sorry I did not keep in touch with him because I knew he was a good and kind person. Rest In Peace, David, and I send condolences and good thoughts to his friends and family

Our daughter Brandy has disabilities and now that she is grown, she and a companion go to Sidney Lanier School once a week to volunteer (though the pandemic has interrupted that for now). Brandy always told me about it when she saw David and the student he accompanied in their classroom, a highlight for Brandy. Then at church at UCG, David always went out of his way to speak to Brandy and encourage her. I saw how, as has been stated, David didn't care about race or lifestyle, or disability, or any of that. His ability to see the value in people and to reach out to them is what I will remember and respect about him. Rest in peace, David

I remember David for riding on my bus with a student David was her nurse and he was a wonderful person you would be truly miss David from Mrs Tee at transportation school bus driver you rode with me one summer this bring tears to me what a wonderful person

I always called David my brother from another mother and father. I think of Steve the same. He was a kind, caring, generous soul who was loved by all who knew him. I will miss him very much. He is in heaven with his mom, dad and my brother Johnny. And heaven is a brighter place with them in it. Rest in peace dear David.
