Back when we were junior high school age I was playing football with David in the street and we kicked a football through his neighbors window.
We both felt so bad we got the glass and fixed the window.
I remember his dad saying for some reason , “ Get your head out of your anus!” I still use that 40 years later.
We used to walk our dogs around the block and he had a greyhound. Well, when that dog wanted to go, he pulled out of Daves grasp and took off like bolt of lightning and we would chase after him.
Those are memories that I will never forget.
I never kept in touch with him after high school, but I got to reconnect at our multiyear high school reunion. It was awesome.
Dave passed away in June 2026. Our 40th high school reunion is in July 2026. I was hoping to reconnect, and now he is gone.
All I can say is heaven just got another Angel.
Rest in peace Dave, you deserve it.
There are so many memories but what I think of most when I picture David is his loving spirit. He could make the worst day just a little better. His laughter, his smile and his love was in everything he did.
David was a mentor, both of life and in nursing. He cared for his patients, their families and his colleagues in every way.
The most important thing in his life and the thing he loved most was Jamie and Jordan,"his girls". They lived in his heart and brought him joy above all else. I offer my deepest sympathy to his daughters Jamie and Jordan, his family, his friends and my friends and colleagues in PICU. David will be missed💔
Beautifully written, he loved you girls so much! I’m thankful for the 13 years of knowing you and working with you in PICU.
