Dave Powell passed away peacefully at home after a brave and courageous journey through Alzheimer’s Disease. He was 71. Dave was born and grew up in Richmond, VA. He received a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Read Obituary

Dave started in chemistry at UF when I started in the Dean’s Office. Dave was one of the most kindest professors that I knew. He spoke quietly but was respected widely by all. He will be missed. My prayers to the family. Dave is in a better place.
My most sincere condolences go out to Trish, family and friends. Dr. Powell was a brilliant, generous, and gentle advisor during my years at UF. You will always be in my memories and prayers.
