David Bertuccelli's Obituary
David Bertuccelli, 57, longtime resident of Hawthorne, Florida, died Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at the Shands Hospital at the University of Florida.
Mr. Bertuccelli was born in Tampa, Florida on March 8, 1958, to the late Don and Hildred Bertuccelli. He grew up in Tampa, and graduated from Plant High School, and later worked for Tampa Bay Machines. He moved to Hawthorne later in life, and was the manager of the Yankee Landing Fish Camp, a job that was perfect for him, because of his love of the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. He loved kids, and became known as the neighborhood dad to all the children in the Hawthorne community. David enjoyed the game of baseball, and was the manager of the Hawthorne High School baseball team.
He helped his friend and brother-in-law, with the Wade Boggs Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis, and was part of the tournament fishing team for the Yerrid Foundation benefitting children’s cancer.
He is survived by a large and wonderful family, including his wife of 27 years, Patsy Goad Bertuccelli, of Hawthorne; two daughters, Alicia (Graham) Harris, of Tampa, and Laci (Raphael) Minter, of Hawthorne; one son, Niko (Robyn) Bertuccelli, of Hawthorne; two brothers-in-law, Norman Goad, and Michael (Mindy) Goad, whom he raised as a son; two sisters, Deborah and her husband and his best friend, Wade Boggs, and Betty (Greg) Gordon, both of Tampa; his very special mother & father-in-law, Joan and Jerry Goad, of Hawthorne; and most especially his precious grandchildren, JJ, Ramia, Raelyn, Leonna and Landon.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 11:00 A. M. to 1:00 P. M., in the WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, US 301 South at Lake Avenue. A celebration of David’s life will follow at 2:00 P.
