David Allen Bennett's Obituary
David Allen Bennett, 75, resident of Ft. White, Florida, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, in the Palm Garden Nursing Home, following a long illness.
Mr. Bennett was a native of Alexandria, Virginia, son of the late Hubert Raginald and Margaret Bennett. He lived most of his life between Florida and Virginia, working as a painter; mostly as a restoration painter, at the Smithsonian museums and various historical sites in Virginia and Washington. David was of the Methodist faith. He loved travelling. He loved people and animals and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by two children, David Allen Bennett, Jr., and Susan Ursavage.
He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Dreikorn; two sons, Michael Bennett and Chase Bennett; two sisters, Martha Rife and Patricia (Wayne) Lewis; his longtime friends and companion, Lois Gorman and Jane Blais and by five grandchildren and one great grandchild, and by many nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 2:00 P. M., at the Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to either the Hospice of the Nature Coast, 150 N.
