David and Kimberly Niblett's Obituary
David and Kimberly Niblett, both 44, died tragically, on Thursday, July 26, 2018 in plane crash in Palatka, Florida.
David and Kimberly met in Gainesville, from the very beginning bonding over shared interests, and marrying in the fall of 2003. From this point on, their lives were completely about each other, they shared so many things, especially their love of travelling, going all over the world together, Europe, Iceland, Costa Rica, to name only a few. Kimberly had a great love of all things Disney, and David graciously, albeit begrudgingly, obliged her. Together they had a great love of flying; David was the pilot, Kimberly the right seat; they were building their own airplane, another opportunity to spend time together. They were very active in both the EAA’s Young Eagles program and KidsFlyCubs, both organizations designed to introduce young people to the world of flying. Professionally, David was an IT professional, for many years with Gainesville Regional Utilities, and Kimberly an agricultural research scientist, at the University of Florida.
They’re survived by their families and families in law; Parents; Marcy Steele & Daniel Leverenz; Tiffany & Ron Philman; Neal Ruesch; Charles Niblett & Ana Bailey; grandmothers, Ruth Eckhoff and Margery Niblett; sister, Sally (Todd) Hooper; cousin, Paul Busceni; nieces, Laura Staab and Katie (Creyton) Staab.
Their lives will be celebrated together with a time of sharing and remembrance on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 11:00 A. M. to 3:00 P. M., in the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd St. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, to help continue Kim’s love of Disney in a child’s life, or to either of the organizations David and Kim were so passionately involved in taking young people up in the sky.
