Darryl Glenn Jones' Obituary
Darryl Glenn Jones, age 54, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015, surrounded by his family and loved ones, after a 3 ½ year battle with cancer. Darryl was born in Gainesville, Florida on April 19, 1961 in Alachua General Hospital to Tom and Annie Mae Jones. He was a glazier by trade and worked for Shea’s Glass Company for over 20 years. Darryl was a skilled handyman who enjoyed helping others. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, gardening, estate sale shopping, skateboarding, camping, playing the lottery and spending time with his wife and family. He was most proud of the son that he raised into the man he is today.
Darryl was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Mae Jones. He is survived by his wife, Kelly Jones; son, Darren Jones; daughter-in-law, Heidi Jones; father, Tom Jones; mother-in-law, Betty Sauls; father-in-law, Charlie Sauls (Frances); brother-in-law, Jimmy Sauls (Joy); Ray and Lauri Jones, Larry and Kim Jones, Terry Jones, Tommy (Boo Boo) Jones, Debora Goodman, Deanne and Jeff Gaskill, Hannelore Bodendorf; many nieces and nephews and many aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Darryl’s Life will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., at Greenhouse Church, 2925 NW 39th Avenue, with Pastor Robbie Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to the Sabastian Ferrero Foundation, 105 SW 128th Street, Suite 200, Newberry, FL 32669.
