Crawford "Pop" Bryan Carpenter's Obituary
Crawford “Pop” Bryan Carpenter, age 91 of Newberry, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at his home. He was born September 16, 1927 in Greenville, Alabama to Eddie Crawford and Claudie Emala Kitchell Carpenter. Crawford proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He then worked and retired from Southern Bell. Pop lived with his granddaughter, Chrissy, her husband, Mike, and their children for the last 5 ½ years. He was an avid wood carver and Florida Gator fan. He loved his Florida Keys trips with his family. He had a very strong Christian faith. Pop was a family man and his family was his world.
Pop was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jacqueline Carpenter, and daughter, Linda Hahn.
He is survived by his children, Marjorie Keister (Curt) and Nancy Page (Paul); brother, James E. Carpenter (Jeanne); grandchildren, Curtis Adriance, Dawn Keheley, Chrissy Holloway, Victor Feeley, Amy Albury, Nancy Totterdale, and Kyle Keister; great grandchildren, Rachael Watkins, Justin Adriance, Austin Page, Victor Feeley, Jr., Michael Holloway, Dylan Totterdale, John Feeley, Taylor Feeley, Luke Holloway, and Lauren Albury, and great-great granddaughter, Nova Page.
A Celebration of Pop’s Life will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Tim Tebow Foundation, www.timtebowfoundation.org (where one can donate online).
