Cody Jared Lafleur's Obituary
Cody Jared Lafleur, age 22 of Ocala, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018. Cody was born in Syracuse, New York and moved to Florida in 2004. He graduated from Vanguard High School and received a full scholarship for music and trumpet performance to Stetson University. Cody left Stetson to pursue a career in Emergency Medical and Fire Services. He worked as a paramedic for Sumter County before coming to Alachua County and working as a paramedic at North Florida Regional. He had currently been employed by Alachua County as a Rescue Lieutenant Paramedic. In his free time, Cody enjoyed scuba diving and barbequing and spending time with his friends. He was a member of Kingdom of the Sun Concert Band in Ocala.
Cody is survived by his parents, Fred and Kristin Tuttle of Ocala, FL; brother, Adam Peryea of Portsmouth, VA; sisters, Erika Hewitt of Portland, OR, Nicole Peryea of Ocala, FL and Julianna Tuttle of Ocala, FL; several aunts and uncles, cousins and nephews; girlfriend, Adrienne Drapiza of Gainesville, FL.
A Celebration of Cody’s Life will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, with Chaplain Robert Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please honor Cody Lafleur’s memory by making a donation to UF Health Shands Hospital’s Pediatric Heart and Lung Transplant Fund. Gifts may be mailed to UF Health Office of Development, P.O. Box 100386, Gainesville, FL 32610. *Please indicate on your gift that it is directed to UF Health Shands Hospital and that it is in ‘Mr. Cody Lafleur’s’ memory. His family chose this fund to help families, like his nephews’, who received love and care during their stay at Shands while he received a heart transplant after birth.
