Clayton Charles Wilkes' Obituary
Clayton Charles Wilkes, age 67 of Gainesville, Florida passed away Monday, July 6, 2015. He was born December 6, 1947 in Miami, Florida to Lemmie and Earlene Beasley Wilkes. Clayton was an avid hunter and fisherman, a sports fan, and loved the beach and doing yardwork. He loved to travel, especially to watch his granddaughter participate in events.
Clayton is preceded in death by his wife, Penny Daniese Wood Wilkes, who he met at Pizza Palace in Miami, and married November 7, 1970. He is survived by his daughters, Penny Lucille Wilkes-Mauk (Michael) and Pauline Wilkes-Smith (Christopher); brother, Jimmy Wilkes; and granddaughter, Payton Grace Smith.
A funeral service will be held Friday, July 10, 2015 at 6:00pm at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street. Interment will take place at Wilkes Family Cemetery in Toombs County, Georgia.
