Christopher "Chris" Smith Rivenbark's Obituary
Christopher Smith Rivenbark, 44, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away on September 14, 2022. Chris was born to Walter Murphy (III) and Carol Rivenbark in Gainesville, Florida on December 22, 1977. He graduated from Gainesville High School in 1996.
A beloved son and brother, Chris enjoyed outdoor sports such as skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding. He was an entrepreneur out of high school and learned everything he could about real estate. He had a real talent for finding great real estate deals and worked closely with his Dad for many years. His family remembers him as gentle, kind-hearted, funny, and an extremely hard worker.
Chris had an optimistic spirit no matter what life threw his way. He was always looking towards the future where he would conquer the world and find his fortune; and strategized on how he was going to get there. This optimism was with him until his final day.
Chris also suffered from addiction, a disease he struggled with for many years. While he was unable to overcome that battle, he was ever-optimistic, intent on traveling, connecting with his family, and finding a way to get out into nature to enjoy the sports he loved.
Chris is survived by his father, Walter Murphy Rivenbark III, his oldest brother Walter Rivenbark IV, his older brother David Rivenbark and his older sister Amy Chin.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 25th at 2:00 pm. at Williams-Thomas Westarea 823 N.W. 143rd Street Newberry, FL. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Alcoholics Anonymous. https://www.aa.org/aa-contributions-self-support
