Christie Lynn Bassett's Obituary
Christie Lynn Bassett, age 16 of Gainesville, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 4, 2015, with her family by her side. She was born July 10, 1998 in Gainesville, Florida to Philip and Jennifer O’Leary Bassett. Christie, a junior at Buchholz High School, was an honor student and was a member of the swim team. An accomplished competitor she was a state finalist this year.
She is survived by her parents, Phil and Jenny O’Leary-Bassett; brother, Taylor Bassett of Gainesville, FL; Gram, Dottie O’Leary of Gainesville, FL; Nana and Dadcu, Christyne and Arthur Bassett of Wales, Great Britain; Grand-dad, Colonel John O’Leary of Edgewater, FL; uncles, Chris O’Leary of Apollo Beach, FL and Peter Bassett of Bubenheim, Germany and loving family pet, Zoe.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., in Trinity United Methodist Church, 4000 NW 53rd Avenue, with Pastor Esther Rodriguez officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, January 9, 2015, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street. The family wishes to thank UF Health Trauma for thecompassionate care given to Christie.
