Chester Earl Tillman passed away peacefully in Gainesville FL on July 20, 2024, surrounded by his children. He was 93 years old. His funeral will be held on July 27, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Sa Read Obituary
As a Missionary Serving with Elder Tillman 1998-2000 I was impressed with his work ethic and love of the people in Canada. He touched many lives in The small town of Selkirk Manitoba & strengthened the small branch there. The countless lives he changed & the service he rendered are legacies that will be cherished. All the best and RIP. God & Angels now surround you as you serve on the other side of the veil. Love the Rasmussen Family.
As a young girl, I would visit in summers that we traveled and they are some of my best roadtrip memories. Floating Ichetucknee Springs, showing us gators on campus, fresh milk with cereal for breakfast, introducing us to everyone in their ward at church, always had a big hug to give. He will be missed and is so loved. Till we meet again sweet Uncle Chester.
He shared the Savior’s love with Leslie and I. He served as a sealer in the Orlando Temple and sealed us together for Time and Eternity. Just a few examples; so many more. He shared work, fencing on Leslie’s farm. He shared grape starts that are growing still on Wayne’s farm. He shared his love for the gospel of Jesus Christ with us whenever we were together. God’s blessings on his family and posterity now and forever.
Dear Aunt Betty, Jean, Anna, Carrie, Chet, Steve, Joey (I know you can feel this) Matt and Ben,
I was sad to hear of Uncle Chester’s passing. Even though I am tearful, I am so happy for him to return to his Heavenly Home, leaving the physical pain of this world behind.
He is a great man. A second father to me. He always checked up on me when he would visit his daughters (my cousins) when we were all at BYU.
He and Aunt Betty raised a good and loving family. We all loved going to “our cousins” house for visits. Lots of great and funny stories. I can still hear Uncle Chester’s laugh.
I don’t think I ever saw Uncle Chester without Aunt Betty right by his side. They are an example of true companionship.
I am praying for the Lord to comfort the Tillman family at this tender time. I know that He is so happy to see Uncle Chester.
