Cheralan "Cher" Graham Vahedi's Obituary
Cheralan "Cher" Graham Vahedi, 72, passed peacefully on July 23,2020 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, Florida, where she was surrounded by her husband, daughter, and son-in-law.
Cheralan was born April 30, 1948 at Alachua General Hospital to Alvin Earl and Charlotte L. (Pearce) Graham. She lived at various locations throughout Florida. After graduating from Gainesville High School in 1966, she enrolled at Santa Fe
Community College where she was a member of the very first graduating class of 1968. It was here that she received her
Dental Assistant Certificate. She continued her education at the University of South Florida in Tampa and University of Florida in Gainesville. She was a Dental Assistant for over 50 years. Cheralan worked over 30 years for the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs in Tampa, Jacksonville, and Lake City. She retired in April 2017 from the Lake City VA Medical Center.
Cheralan enjoyed retirement with frequent road trips, trying new eateries (especially good southern cooking), and loved
anything Star Trek. She was an avid cat lover and collector of cat themed prints and clothing. She was most happy spending time with her daughter. The two of them were happy-go-lucky shoppers, always looking for fun, laughing all the way and feelin' groovy. They sailed away on epic trips to the crystal blue waters of the Bahamas and explored the many majestic snowcapped fjords of the Alaskan wilderness. She celebrated the ''trifecta'' of her musical dreams: seeing Tom Jones, Neil Diamond, and Englebert Humperdink live in-concert. Her life was filled to the brim with kindness and love for her family and friends. Cheralan was the epitome of a perfect mother, best friend, and loving wife. She was always there to brighten the lives of others. Cheralan touched more hearts and lives than we are able to mention. Cheralan will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
Cheralan is survived by her husband, Seyed, of 48 years. She leaves behind her daughter, Sayedeh Vahedi-Daley
(Michael). She is preceded in death by her parents Alvin Earl and Charlotte L (Pearce) Graham, brother Alvin Paul
Graham, Maternal Grandparents, Allison and Clara (Tyre) Pearce and Paternal Grandparents Paul R and Clarine (Vinzant) Graham.
A Celebration of Life and Remembrance will be held in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral home, 404 N Main Street on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 2 pm. The family kindly and respectfully asks that all friends/family wear a face mask to help deter spread of the Coronavirus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Boulevard, Gainesville, FL 32606.
