Charles Edmond “Charlie” Parrish
Mr. Charles Edmond “Charlie” Parrish, 75, longtime resident of Newberry, Florida, died Monday, November 11, 2024, at his home, following a brief illness.
Mr. Parrish was born in Marianna, Florida on February 25, 1949, to the late John Marshall and Doris Evelyn Parrish. Shortly after graduating high school, he proudly joined the U. S. Army working as a medic during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he became a registered nurse and continued that career until his recent retirement. Mr. Parrish enjoyed hunting and fishing, a hobby he enjoyed sharing with family and friends, and was preceded in death by his sister, Gayle Goodfellow.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon Parrish; by one son, Matthew Parrish, of High Springs, by a niece, Monica Jenkins and a great niece, Tabitha Jenkins.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00 A. M. in the Newberry Cemetery, with Rev. Roger Sumner officiating. The family will receive friends for thirty minutes before the service at the cemetery, beginning at 9:30 A. M.
