Charles J. French Jr.'s Obituary
Charles J. French Jr., 95, passed away February 24, 2024, in Gainesville, FL. He was preceded in death by Marie (Schnitger), his beautiful wife of 63 years, and his parents Charles J. Sr. & Catherine. He is survived by his children Jennings (Martha), Karen Sampson and John French, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and extended family. Charles or as many of his friends called him Frenchie and CJ, was a U.S. Army Veteran, a Kentucky Colonel, loved his family, horse racing, growing flowers and the beaches in Florida. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 6, 2024, 10:00am at the Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 S Fifth Street, Louisville, KY. A private graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Please help us celebrate Charles’s life on Saturday, April 6, 2024, 3pm to 5pm, at Gerstles, 3801 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40207. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Day Spring of Louisville or Haven Hospice of Gainesville.
