Charles "Chuck" N. Lee Jr.'s Obituary
Chuck Lee of Gainesville, FL formerly of Cross City, was called home on February 11, 2022, at the age of 64. Chuck was of the Baptist faith and loved football, baseball, and wrestling, especially the Florida Gators and the Atlanta Braves. Chuck got to live out one of his dreams, attending the 1995 World Series to watch his beloved Braves. Chuck was best remembered as working at Ray’s Foodlane for 20+ years before moving to Gainesville. There he stayed in the retail business working for Target, Big Lots and Ollie’s. While in Cross City, he umpired many years at many levels including Little League, High School Softball, and Men’s Softball. Chuck was also the “Voice of the Bears” for over 10 years announcing home football games for DCHS.
Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Charles Norman Lee, Sr. (USAF Ret.)
He is survived by his mother, Wanda Ward Lee, of Cross City, his wife of 19 years, Maureen Lee, of Gainesville, daughters Misty Railey, of Gainesville, Tiffany (Steven) Dean, brothers Kenneth “Tank” (Debbie) Lee, Kasen Lee, sister Debbie (Mike) Brigman, nieces Angel Lee, and Holly Brigman, all of Cross City.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown 404 N. Main St. Gainesville, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial’s may be made in Chuck’s memory to Haven Hospice Foundation www.beyourhaven.org
