Dr. Charles "Chuck" Dean Lawrence's Obituary
Dr. Charles “Chuck” Dean Lawrence, age 71 of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 in North Florida Regional Medical Center. Dr. Lawrence was born July 13, 1945 in Denver, Colorado to Carl and June Bennett Lawrence. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma after earning a Master’s degree in health and then continued his education at Indiana University, where he earned a Master’s in zoology and Ph.D. in environmental ecology. His passion was science and he had a great respect for all living things. He was employed by the University of Florida as a Science and Technology Innovator.
Dr. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margie Lawrence; brother, Steve Lawrence of Indiana and his beloved dogs, Abby, True Love, Louie, Chance, Riley and Teddie.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated Friday, January 6, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 500 NE 16th Avenue, with Fr. Dung Bui as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Alachua County Humane Society, 4205 NW 6th Street,
