Cedell Wallace "Zeke" Fletcher's Obituary
Cedell Wallace "Zeke" Fletcher died peacefully after a long illness in the loving company of family and friends on April 12, 2018. Cedell was born in Bell, Fl, the only child of the late Mark and Dora Fletcher. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Jane Lively Fletcher, a son Michael Fletcher (Lois), a daughter Stacy Michele Dunn (Tony), four grandchildren, Bryan Fletcher (Susan), Connie Kelsey (Scott), Marc Dunn, and Matthew Dunn, and three precious great grandchildren, Joslyn and Zeke Fletcher, and Amelia Russell.
Cedell was a loyal and devoted employee of UPS and retired after 32 years of exemplary service as a tractor-trailer driver. Following retirement he continued his association with many of his long-time fellow employees and good friends who were also retired from UPS.
To have known Cedell was to love him. Cedell was one of those rare individuals that felt blessed by everyone he met, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him felt blessed in return. He was a man of integrity and strength of character, who loved and was devoted to his wife and family.
Cedell enjoyed life to the fullest and was fun to be around. He loved fishing, especially when the boat was filled with his children and grandchildren. Many a good time were enjoyed with him while fishing from his boat. Cedell was a devoted Christian, and as directed by the Bible, he was also truly a fisher of men, exemplifying to others all that is good by leading a Christian life.
A funeral and celebration of life service will be held on Sunday April 15, 2018, at 2:30 PM at the Glen Springs Church of Christ, located at 2214 NW 31st Ave., Gainesville, FL. A graveside service will be held on Monday April 16, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Meadows Cemetery, located at 4100 NW 39th Ave., Gainesville, FL. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Haven Hospice.
