Cecil James Jones' Obituary
Mr. Cecil James Jones, 77, resident of Williston, Florida, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in the North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, following a long illness.
Mr. Jones was a native of White Pine, Tennessee, born on July 25, 1938, to the late William T. and Rosa Mae Jones. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, and spent his civilian career in law enforcement, retiring from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Mr. Jones moved to Mexico Beach, Fla., in 1980, and then moved to Williston in 2002. His very favorite pastime was playing golf, and he attended the First Baptist Church of Williston.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon Sue Jones, of Williston; children, Keith Jones, of Riverton, WY, Robert Dale Jones, of Maryville, TN; Jeri Leigh Alfree and Teresa Shular, both of North Reddington Beach, FL and Harry Wade Shular, of Kennesaw, GA; one sister, Pat Ward, of Albany, GA. Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 1:00 P. M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd St., with Rev. Jason Owenby, officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00. Interment will follow with military honors in Orange Hill Cemetery, Williston. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to the veterans charity of their choice.
