My husband Jack and I became acquainted with C.R. through his wonderful wife Mary Ellen who passed before him. I knew Mary Ellen as we worked together at Naples Elementary in Naples NY. We always enjoyed sharing stories of our families. We sat with C.R. & M.E. at a number of our retired teachers luncheons. We always enjoyed our time together. Surely, this loving couple is happy to be reunited with each other, their son and grandson in heaven. We send our blessings & prayers to their family.
I was privileged to know Cecil as a dedicated, talented teacher. His kindness and concern for all defined him. As a teacher, he made life so much better for so many people, especially his students and his colleagues. May he know the eternal rewards of a life we’ll lived.
Cecil and I were very close. We often joked that we were brothers from different mothers. We spent many, many Sunday afternoons together watching our beloved Buffalo Bills. Occasionally we attended a game in person. Cecil always remembered the game we attended where Bruce Smith knocked Boomer out of the game. What made it so memorable was that after the game CR and I walked around to enjoy the surroundings and just happened to come across Boomer getting onto the team bus. Cecil was astounded by how his golden hair almost glowed.
Cecil was and will always be my very special friend.
