Carrie Heller's Obituary
Carrie Heller, OD FAAO, passed on June 4, 2018 of unknown causes. Carrie was the first daughter of George Henry Heller III and Paula Watts Heller. The loving sister of George Henry Heller IV and Christina Marie Payne. Carrie was born on April 26, 1977 in Tallahassee, Florida. Carrie was a graduate of Leon High School class of 1995, she then graduated with a Bachelors of Science from FSU followed by a degree in Optometry from Nova South Eastern University.
Carrie was an optometrist who achieved many academic achievements while working at the Malcom Randall Veterans Eye Clinic in Gainesville, FL. She was a mentor to many and participated in humanitarian activities as a Major in the Air Force Reserves. Carrie enjoyed reading and visiting with her family, she was very devoted to her nieces. Carrie loved to travel and see the world.
Carrie is survived by her parents, George and Paula Heller of Tallahassee Fl; Her brother, George Heller and niece, Samantha Heller of Lawrenceville Ga; Her sister, Christina Payne, brother-in-law, John Payne, nieces, Regan Payne and Georgia Payne of North Woodstock, NH; her maternal grandmother, Mary Watts Shaw of Haines City FL. She was preceded in death by her niece, Andii Maree Payne, her maternal grandfather, Dorsey Watts and paternal grandparents, George Heller II and Marie Pierce Reifenburg.
Carrie will be remembered fondly by countless friends and associates.
Carrie’s remembrance service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd St, Newberry, FL 32669. Graveside Interment will be Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Tallahassee National Cemetery with military honors. For either event please wear her favorite color – green, FSU wear or military uniforms.
