Carolyn Fay Williams' Obituary
Carolyn Fay Philman Williams passed away on Saturday, December 27, after a brief illness and an apparent stroke. She was 83.
Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Gainesville, living much of her adult life in the home that she and her husband purchased fifty years ago and where they so warmly raised her loving family.
She is survived by her son Rusty Williams; three grandchildren, Kimberly Williams and husband Shawn Richey; Bobby Maduro and wife Meghan; and Travis Williams; her sister Dr. Joan Longstreth. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren--Zachary, Skylar, Isabella, Bobby 5th , Brock, Brandon, and Brian. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Williams, her son Darrell Williams, granddaughter Alexis Maduro, siblings Clyatt Philman, Betty Whitesides, Virginia Plemmons, and Clif Philman, and her parents Agnes and Orlando Philman.
Carolyn worked for the Alachua County School Board for 28 years before her retirement.
Memorial services will be held at Williams-Thomas Westarea Chapel on Saturday morning, January 3, at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. before the service. Burial will be beside her beloved husband Jerry at Forest Meadows East on Hawthorne Road immediately following the service.
Chaplain Steven Woodbury will be officiating.
