Carolyn Kay Osteen Ray's Obituary
Carolyn Kay Osteen Ray, age 70 of Gainesville, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 at the Haven Hospice Care Center in Lake City. Carolyn was born October 12, 1946 in Melbourne, Florida to Marian Fischer and Lois Jean Hart Osteen. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1964. She moved to Gainesville and lived here forty-five years. She worked as office manager for Universal Engineering Sciences. Carolyn was a member of Northwest Baptist Church where she taught ladies’ Sunday School for many years. She loved her family, her grandchildren, the beach and being outdoors.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jackie Wayne Ray. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Ray (Donna) of Lake City, FL and Michael Ray (Rebecca) of Sharpsburg, GA; sisters, Jean Shelfer (Don) of Jacksonville, FL and Linda Lee of Orange Park, FL; two nieces and nephew and grandchildren, Emily, Caleb, Joshua, Parker, Timothy and Campbell Ray.
A Celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Northwest Baptist Church, with Pastor Jeffrey Ray officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Memorial Park East.
