Carolyn B. Austin's Obituary
Carolyn B. Austin, 86 was born November, 25, 1930 in Miami, Florida. She passed away peacefully February 19, 2017 surrounded by her family. She graduated from Palm Beach High School 1948. She attended Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia for 2 years before transferring to the University of Florida, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1952 and where she met and married Keith C. Austin her husband of 53 years.
Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Keith C. Austin, her mother and father Eva and Guy McLaren of Palm Beach, Florida. Carolyn is survived by her son Keith C. Austin Jr. (Helene) of West Palm Beach, FL and their sons Keith C. Austin III (Danielle), Scott C. Austin and great grandson Alexander Austin, and her daughter Beth Austin Willingham (Tom) of Atlanta, Georgia and their children Thomas M. Willingham IV and Caroline Austin Willingham.
Carolyn was an active member of the Gainesville community and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Junior Women’s Club, Junior League, Alpha Delta Pi sorority and many other civic related activities while joyfully raising her family,
A Celebration of Life service for Carolyn will be held Wednesday February 22, 2017 at 1:00pm at First Presbyterian Church. 106 SW 3rd Street, Gainesville, FL 32601.
In lieu of flowers those who wish may make a donation to First Presbyterian Church, Gainesville, Florida or Haven Hospice of Gainesville, Florida.
