Carol Jane Clay Gobus' Obituary
Carol Jane Gobus, 83, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014.
Jane was born in East Aurora, N. Y. to Eva Farrington Clay and Harold Clay on March 13, 1930. She was preceded in death by both parents and brother, David Clay. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Bill, and her sister Helen (Mike) Natale of Syracuse, N. Y.
Jane has 3 loving children, son William C. Gobus (Deb Hilton), of Dolores, CO, daughters, Patricia (Doug Turbert) of Guilford, CT, and Barbara (Joe Lelli) of Norristown, Pa. Jane (Mimi) adored her 8 grandchildren; Carol and Amanda Gobus, Daniel, Christopher and Billy Turbert, Jessica Southard, Dianna Kralle, Joseph Lelli and many nieces and nephews. Lastly is an adorable great grandchild, Gracie.
Jane was a graduate of Keuka College.
Always an avid sports fan, she was an especially devoted Gator fan and enjoyed season tickets for all sports for many years. She loved to travel and visited many countries around the world. Many close to her often referred to her as “Mrs. I can go.”
She taught adults to read in the adult literacy program. She was a deeply caring and loving person. There was not a “mean bone in her body.”
There will be a gathering of friends and family on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 10 A.M. to 12 P. M., in the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street, with a celebration of Jane’s life, beginning at 11:00 A. M. Many thanks to Haven Hospice, and her faithful and compassionate caretakers, Elizabeth and Sarah with True Care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
