Dave/Glo Durkee What a wonderful gentleman he was, we called them Mommy Poppa, he was our neighbor who we learned to love. Carlos was a very proud man didn't like to ask for help loved working in his yard taking great pride, always had a project going, loved working with wood, he would call us after each was finished so we could see his accomplishments, and of course we had to admire them all, knowing he was doing each with love. Carlos would make Puerto Rico foods to share with us, and always brought Puerto Rico Rum on his visits home, he will be missed, and would always tell us, You know we love you ! Yes we loved him too, and he will be missed.
I loved going fishing and travelling all over Puerto Rico with him. Sharing Piraguas and watching TV shows with him.
Ok so this is another funny one. There was ALWAYS a "BBQ Grill Cold War" between my dad and me. Even though it was never said it was always there. He MUST ALWAYS have the Best and Bigger BBQ Grill. LOL I could buy a grill because I needed a new one, he will see it, say how cool it was and without not even 1 week...he will go to Home Depot or Lowes and he will buy another brand new one (better than mine in some detail and he still have a new one at the house...jijiji) Of course he will make sure to tell me and insist to show it to me...I thought it was the cutest thing..sometimes aggravating as I knew it was another cold war BBQ Grill challenge
Something very sweet my father did...only when I was single, (no boyfriend or husband) every St Valentine day he will send to my worksite a bouquet of flowers. But..at the moment that there was a boyfriend, fiance or I got married I asked him ..So what happened with your flowers?? He said... "Sorry that's is HIS responsibility now"
