Dear Olga and family,
Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Carlos.
I had the privilige of working with Carlos for 17 years at The Campbell Soup Company and during those years I developed a tremendous respect for Carlos as a professional but more importantly as a person. Selfless, honest, supportive and genuinely interested in others. If we were all like Carlos, the world would become a better place to live and work.
I will foster my fond memories of interacting with him. May God give you all the strength to live on without him.

Carlos exemplified the goodness in man, from humble beginnings to a person who was able to give so much back to not only his immediate family but to so many others. We were saddened to hear of Carlos’ passing.

I got to know Carlos well over the last 10 years. He became a trusted friend, and I greatly admired him. He believed whole-heartedly in the purpose and mission of Engineering Leadership Institute and was always willing to assist and advise our academic programs. His guest lectures and activities impacted many students, and the Carlos and Olga del Sol Engineering Leadership Scholarship endowment continues to support a number of well-deserving, emerging student engineering leaders.

One of my favorite quotes ends with: “Be careful about your character because your character becomes your destiny….and be careful about your leadership because your leadership becomes your legacy.” Carlos was the epitome of a selfless, high-character person and a great engineering leader who left an enduring legacy. Marianna always said that he was also the consummate gentleman
