Brenda Jean Tillman Adkins' Obituary
Brenda Jean Tillman Adkins, age 69 of Hawthorne, Florida passed away peacefully Thursday, March 9, 2017 in Clyde, North Carolina while on vacation. She was born February 20, 1948 in Alachua County to Irvin and Jeanette Erickson Tillman. She was a School bus driver for Shell Elementary and Hawthorne High School for many years and loved her job and the children who rode her bus.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Lockwood Adkins.
She is survived by her husband, Dixie Henson and her only daughter, Suzy Adkins. She is also survived by her sister, Diane Tillman Hamilton, brother, Roger Tillman and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
A gathering to celebrate Brenda’s life will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.at her residence. There will be an intermission at 2:00 p.m., when a brief eulogy will be given, followed by prayer. Everyone is welcome to join us in her Celebration of life, event. Food and drinks will be provided. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Hospice.
