Bonita (Bonnie) Sue Reddig's Obituary
Surrounded by family, Bonita (Bonnie) Sue Reddig, was called to be with the Lord on October 17, 2025 at 11:58 in the morning. She was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on March 6, 1948 and was 77 years old. Her parents were Eva and Bill Spencer. Bonnie (her preferred name) along with her twin sister, Francie Williams, were the youngest of ten children comprised of four boys and six girls. She is survived by her husband of 56 years William Grant Reddig who misses her terribly. She has two boys, David and Michael. Also, she is missed by Michael’s hard-working wife Teri, and two grandsons Noah and Jacob Reddig. She has two sisters, one, Juanita Jane Shepherd living in Texas and Lena Ann Creasy living in Arkansas and many cousins, nephews and nieces living from California to Florida and Michigan to Arkansas.
She graduated from Hot Springs Senior High, Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1966. She was a great artist because she drew things that looked like the actual thing. She also was very adept at sewing and made her own dresses during High School including her prom dress. She attended one year at Henderson State Teachers College and graduated Business School in Hot Springs, Arkansas and Gainesville, Florida. Her last working assignment was at Santa Fe College where she helped manage a unit containing numerous disciplines of Professors.
She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her sons and grandsons and all of her family. She loved cats and we have been rescuing and homing kitties since we moved to Gainesville in 1989. She was an incredible support to her husband when he got sick and had to retire at 54 years of age due to exposure to chemical poisons during his service in Vietnam. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her in this life.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 2:00pm-6:00pm at WILLIAMS-THOMAS Funeral Home, 404 Main Street, in Gainesville, Florida. Final burial will be in Plummerville Cemetery, Plummerville, Arkansas in March 2026.
