Bomsa Jens-Otto Damgaard's Obituary
“Bomsa” Jens-Otto Damgaard passed away at Gainesville Health Care Center on October 7, 2016 at 9:24 a.m. after a two-year battle with lung cancer. He passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Bomsa was born on October 20, 1942 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Edith and Knud Damgaard. After having spent many years working in travel and hospitality all across Denmark, he and his wife Judy moved to Gainesville in 1990 where he became a local realtor for many years, most recently with Ferro Real Estate Partners. He was very active in GACAR activities. He adored his family, enjoyed traveling, and couldn’t ever be more than five feet from a beer.
Bomsa is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Marie, and his brothers Knud and Jorgen, and children Kenn, Derek, and Ann Christina, six grandchildren, Jens, Victoria, Juanita, Jonathan, Daniel and Conrad.
A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2119 SW 16th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608.
