Billy Franklin "Paps" Norton's Obituary
Billy Franklin Norton “Paps”, 75, peacefully completed his journey here on earth, Friday, July 7, 2017 at North Florida Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Billy fought a courageous battle against cancer.
Billy proudly served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965, completing a tour of duty in Germany.
Billy is proudly survived by his close friend of over 40 years, Polly; three children, Debbie Lentz (Joe), Lisa Butler and Shawn Norton; two wonderful grandsons, Justin and Beau Lentz; three awesome great grandchildren, Sarah, Ian and Ollie; three very special sisters, Ann Eggleston, Edith Guyder and Elva VanHook; twelve adoring nieces and nephews, not to mention his many great nieces and nephews and lots of wonderful friends.
Billy was well liked by everyone he met and enjoyed sharing life stories with them. He loved to play golf (although he may not have been very good at it—smile) and watching all sports that involved his Fighting Florida Gators.
Billy is under the care of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, for his journey to Indiana to be buried alongside his parents and brother, Harold Dean “Butch”.
At Billy’s request, there will be no service.
The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff at North Florida Regional Medical Center PCU for the kind and compassionate care they gave Billy.
