Billy Ray Green's Obituary
Billy Ray Green, passed away on April 22, 2020. Bill was born on April 20, 1933 to James Allen Green and Rosa Belle Green in Gainesville, Florida.
After attending Gainesville High School, Bill proudly served in the United States Army.
He retired from Gainesville Regional Utilities in 1993, after 33 years
with the Water Department.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Elfriede, whom he married while
stationed in Germany. Bill and Elfriede rode with the Alachua County
Sheriff's Auxiliary Posse. They raised many horses and German Shepherds.
Bill is survived by two sisters: Aline King and Geri Swafford. Also, he
leaves behind sixteen nieces and nephews with dozens of great and
great-great nieces and nephews.
All that knew Bill will remember that he loved his family, meeting with
friends, music, dancing and his church, Ridgeview Baptist. He had many
friends who shared that love with him.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date, when family and
friends can gather to celebrate Bill?s life.
