Billiejo Lee Mauldin's Obituary
Billiejo Lee Mauldin, age 86 of Alachua, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at home with her loved ones around her. Billiejo was born February 20, 1931 in Bowersville, Georgia and was the wife of Jones L. Mauldin. Jones and Billiejo came to Gainesville in 1958 to open Mauldin’s Auto Glass.
Billiejo loved spending time with family and attending family gatherings. Besides family, she was gifted with more friends than she could count. Billiejo loved going to the beach and watching her grandchildren. She was a member at First Baptist Church of Alachua. Billiejo was a loving Christian who looked for every opportunity to share her faith with others. One of her favorite past times was encouraging others through cards and phone calls.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jones Mauldin and her children: Linda and Carlton Copeland, Sheila and David Harris, Jerry and Mary Mauldin, and Jean Harris. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren: Mollie and Steve Grote, Jeremy and Rebekah Copeland, Benjamin Copeland, Sarah and Adam Langston, Allison Harris, Thomas and Chelsea Harris, and Holly and Cody Banner. The light of her life were her great grandchildren: Emma Banner, Granger Grote, Sophie Copeland, Everett Banner, Ellie Copeland, Tucker Grote, Marlee Langston, and baby Langston arriving soon. Her extended family surviving her includes: Mary Maude Padgett, Myra Lueders, Betty Lee, Mary Ellen Harper, Eloise Ford, Peggy Peterson, and Dan and Peggy Mauldin.
A Celebration of Billiejo’s life will be held Friday, September 1, 2017 at 1:30 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Alachua, 14005 NW 146th Avenue, with Rev. Doug Felton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior, beginning at 12:30 p.m., at the church. Burial will be private.
