Bill Smith Sr.'s Obituary
Bill Smith, Sr, 79, long time resident of Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2023. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and proudly served his country as a member of the Air Force from 1961 through 1967 where he was mostly stationed overseas. He returned home and met his wife Rosemary E. Smith. They had two children before moving to Florida in the late 70’s. Bill had a love of cars and spending time on the water earlier in life. Even though he slowed down later in life, he always enjoyed passing down knowledge of cars and cooking to his grandchildren and spending time with his wife, their children, and their families.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, and two children Samantha Heilig of Longwood and Bill Smith, Jr of Gainesville along with two grandchildren, Joseph Smith, and Olivia Heilig. He is also survived by his sister Veronica Stickley of Rancho Bernardo, California.
