Beverly Anne Smith's Obituary
Beverly Anne Smith passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born on November 27, 1943, in Jacksonville Florida, to Hugh and Betty Smith.
Bev joined Pan Am as a flight attendant, after graduating from Florida State University in 1965. She enjoyed a long career with Pan Am, traveling the world for 29 years. She especially loved India, both the country and the people. During her college years, Bev performed as an aerialist on the ropes and trapeze with the Florida state University circus. She bonded with 5 friends in the dorm during her sophomore year and these friendships have lasted a lifetime. Bev was a loyal friend and loving aunt. She loved to have fun, had a great sense of humor, and loved all animals She enjoyed reading, exercising, listening to music, spending time with friends, and exchanging letters with her niece. Bev was also devoted to her beloved dogs- Abby, Oscar and Emma. Her dogs brought her great joy and companionship.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Betty, and her nephew Nathan.
She is survived by her brother Hugh, her niece Emily, her great-nephew Niles and great-niece Isla.
A Memorial Service to honor Beverly’s life will be held this summer at Williams Thomas funeral home in Gainesville Florida. Details will be posted to the Williams Thomas website at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary in Gainesville (https://junglefriends.org/) in honor of Bev’s love for animals.
